Adam Butler was born in Edinburgh in 1965 and lives in central London with his French-Canadian wife and two small children.

He studied at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, and has been a professional photographer for over 15 years.

His photographs have been widely exhibited and are in hundreds of collections worldwide. He was awarded the SAAC prize for photography at an exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1996.

His commercial photographs of interiors have been published as features in dozens of magazines including Casa Vogue, AD Italia, Elle Decor, La Mia Casa, Ville e Casali, etc throughout Europe and the US (see his site www.adambutler.com for more details)

An article he wrote on interiors photography was recently published in Photo Pro magazine (UK, Feb 2011).

His photographs have also been included in dozens of coffee table house and interiors books, as well as being featured in "The Mammoth Book of Erotic Photography", various photography magazines.

He is also the principal author of the hugely popular "The Art Book" published 1994 by Phaidon Press.
