Room with a View.

Framed museum archival giclée print, 65 x 74cm, now hanging on location in our dining room. Why not have a glass of wine even in the afternoon and enjoy the view?

One of my all time favourite images, a house with view in the Aeolian island of Panarea, now printed and framed and hanging in our new house.

Today I went for a tour to see the lavish interior

Today I went for a tour to see the lavish interiors of the @moorparkgolfclub in Rickmansworth. The building is a palatial Palladian structure in neoclassical style, but we went there in particular to see the stunning collection of mythological paintings by Venetian early 18th century master Jacopo Amigoni, based on scenes from Ovid Metamorphoses. I went with my friend and art historian @sandraromitolondon who has been doing research on the Venetian artists who worked in England in that period.

What stunning rooms! The clubhouse is open for occasional tours, via the Rickmansworth art society. But I was also eyeing the lush fairways of the Harry Colt designed golf course, laid out when the house was owned by Lord Leverhulme, the early 20th soap maker whose business eventually turned into global behemoth @unilever. Hopefully soon I’ll test my 7 handicap skills on this course which has hosted major events and superstar golfers. 🏌️‍♂️

Stromboli erupting on the horizon. Europe’s most

Stromboli erupting on the horizon. Europe’s most active volcano - and one of the worlds most active - on a particularly active night of eruptions. This is the best view in the Aeolian Islands, a volcanic archipelago of surreal beauty. Understandably it was nominated by Unesco @unescoworldheritage as a world heritage site.

I was lucky enough to capture this evening on timelapse, from which this is a frame. I’ll post the timelapse soon!
