Nude in Turban with Amphora. I shot this for an exhibition inspired by skin, commissioned and sponsored by Nivea Cream, in the Mission Gallery in Ladbroke Grove, London.

Working alongside curator Robin Dutt, I made 3 images of a nude wearing a turban, this “Nude in Turban with Amphora” was the first of the three images of the series, shot using a single light in my home studio in Marylebone, using a classic square format Hasselblad camera and shot on Ilford film.

My inspiration for this image was the “Bather of Valpinçon” by early 19th century French neo-classical painter Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres. The same artist who inspired the “Le Violin d’Ingres” by Man Ray.

The three images of this triptych were each printed up in large 150 x150cm size, framed with mirror mount, and after the exhibition sold for charity.
