I love doing long exposures, and have a complete array of filters to enable me to do these even on bright days. Of course at night it is usual to have to extend the time of the shutter release to several seconds for a fine resulting image quality; to do so for even longer often allows for lovely light trails made by the lights of passing boats. Regularly my long exposures are of a minute or more for each shot.
My preferred method of creating my panoramic images means taking multiple vertical shots which I then later blend together digitally in post production. Doing a long exposure, multi blend panorama at night with the fading, evanescent light is always difficult, to attempt do them with light trails is even more so. This one came out very well however I think!
