This iconic panoramic view of London with the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament dates from 2013. The day in mid-May was crystal clear with barely a whisper of air, wonderful conditions for photography! The sun has just set and I waited for the precise time to photograph the slender slice of crescent moon elating in the sky. In this crespuscular light, between day and night, you can evoke much of the poetry and mystery of cityscapes.
The smooth waters of the River Thames reflects the soft blue of the sky; spanning the river is the Hungerford Railway Bridge leading to the Post Modern arch of Charing Cross Station, by British architect Terry Farrell. The two suspended walkways on either side of the bridge are known as the Golden Jubilee Pedestrian Bridge. At left is part of the South Bank with the Royal Festival Hall concert venue.
