Panoramic view over the rooftops of Islington and Angel, an ultra high resolution panoramic image of the London skyline shot from a clock tower which you can see in this image here.
I managed to gain access to this wonderful landmark of the 50m tall Caledonian Park Clock Tower, which was built in the mid 19th century in an area famous as a gathering spot for protests. The afternoon was a bitterly cold and grey day in early December 2022, but I endeavoured to get an interesting result with the rather flat, steely blue and grey wintery light making a more subdued panoramic view.
In the centre left of this panorama is the spire of St Andrew’s church in Thornhill Crescent, shrouded in a protective cloth due to restoration work but looking like an art work by Christo.
The skyline of skyscrapers span from The City towards (at left) the tall apartment blocks of The City Basin, Shoreditch, Old Street and Hackney. At right is the Shard and St Paul’s.
