Located right at the beating heart of London’s theatreland district of Covent Garden, a stone’s throw the London Underground tube, a public house called The Nag’s Head has occupied this site since at least the 1670s. The current building is an example of Neo-Jacobean pub architecture; it was designed in 1900 by Philip Edward Pilditch, a keen proponent and advocate of Britain’s Edwardian architecture. Pilditch initially trained as an architect, and was also a developer, before becoming the MP for the local area. Like many of the pubs in the Covent garden area, the beating heart of London’s theatre land, it is a very popular stopping off point for a pre or post-theatre meal and drink.
