Late October 2021. We walked to this spectacular city viewpoint to capture this Montreal Downtown Panorama, up the steep hill of the Royal Mount from the bustling city centre or downtown as they call it in North America.
The views are stunning from here. The plethora of skyscrapers are dazzling, and at this time of day, and of year, the myriads of colours and textures become really apparent with the low sun and clear air. With its unique blend of the French 17th century historic neighbourhood around the “Vieux Port”, seen here to the left, and the more north American style downtown area surrounding it with tall, office, and modern buildings, the city is a stylish, vibrant and cosmopolitan hub. Beyond the skyscrapers of this downtown view is the neighbourhood of Longueuil, south east of Montreal.
