Panarea Alleyway with Bougainvillea.

This pretty alleyway in the hamlet of Drauto is just too picturesque for words. When the bougainvillea of the house at left is in full bloom as here in early June, the blaze of colour is just breathtaking. Against the clear blue sky and with whitewashed houses, this really is a vision of paradise.

This image was noticed on my website by fashion house Dolce & Gabbana and they got in touch to use it for their “Escape to Panarea” perfume.

This image is dedicated to the memory of my dear friend Eppe Bagliani, who for many years cared for and tended to this wonderful bougainvillea in his house in Drauto.
