Sit on the deckchair beach this idyllic archway and bougainvillea and enjoy the view whilst whiling away a lazy afternoon. This wonderful archway with radiant bougainvilleas was one of my social media hits of 2020. It was shared dozens if not hundreds of time, and still continues to be so.
The view to me forms a perfect composition, the architectural features, colours and light are all balanced harmoniously. The pristine white of the arch, walls and column are offset by the rich blue sky and the pink of the bougainvillea, perfectly framing Stromboli on the horizon with its plume of smoke from an eruption. Despite this image being captured in mid-July with the searing heat of the Sicilian sun, the sky was not at all hazy but actually quite fresh and with great clarity, making the colours exceptionally intense.
What better place to absorb this fabulous scene than in the comfortable deckchair beneath the arch, gently wafted by a fresh breeze, and with the petals of the bougainvillea falling softly around you?
Lose yourself in the Mediterranean and the very essence of the Aeolian Islands with Adam’s sunny and unique collection of the pristinely beautiful Panarea
