The month of May in the Aeolian Islands is a season when the air is clear, the sea transparent, and the vegetation verdant and spring flowers still colourful. It is also a time when it isn’t yet too unbearably hot to carry a heavy camera bag and tripod! Furthermore there is the added benefit of there being very few boats which give the seascapes a pristine, timeless feel, even if it is just about warm enough to swim in the sea.

This is a multi shot panorama of the Calajunco cove on Panarea, perhaps the most evocative bay of all of the Aeolian Islands.
