I captured this image of Panarea from Above whilst hanging out of a helicopter with the door open. It was a breathtaking flight around this small Aeolian island with my friends at the local helicopter service Air Panarea. This is the view from the south, with the bay of Calajunco nestling in the protective curved arm of Punta Milanese. Beyond is the hamlet of Drauto. At right in the middle distance can be seen the satellite islets of Panarea – Dattilo and Basiluzzo – and on the horizon is the volcanic island of Stromboli.
