Storm at the Port, Panarea, Aeolian Islands. Autumnal storms can often be spectacular to photograph, especially when the low rays of the sun break through the clouds to bathe the crashing waves in dramatic light. As in my other shots of this storm, I had to wait patiently to get a shot with the waves spraying over the port from front to back. I found this composition to be particularly pleasing, with Dattilo on the horizon beyond the exposed and battered jetty, with the fishing boats pulled out of the sea, and with the rocks thrown onto the port by the violent waves, the spray from which even created a mini rainbow.
