TTerrace and Bougainvillea: an evocative example of the architecture and style of Panarea and the Aeolian Islands.

This terrace has always caught my eye, with the captivating, lush pink flowers of the bougainvillea which engulfs it. I have photographed it many times, but was never happy with the results. But this time, in early June 2021, after a springtime of perfect conditions for growth, the bougainvillea was really at its prime like I’ve never seen before. As soon as I pointed my camera at this terrace and bougainvillea I knew I had an image which really evokes perfectly for me the very essence of Panarea, the jewel of the Aeolian Islands, the beating heart and soul of the Mediterranean culture.
